Default Round 1 done

Went to bed at about 8pm planning on getting up around midnight to see
if plowing was necessary. It was. I didn't want to let the snow get
too high because it gets difficult to see where things are.

Just finished doing our driveway and the driveways of two neighbors.
Visibility is next to nothing. Heavy, blowing snow. A little
depressing considering the Weather Channel just said the peak of the
storm is just now approaching New York. Gonna be a long day tomorrow.

Just happened to be up for a head visit at 0545 AST this morning and the snow had just started.
Could be a long day.
I haven't bought winter tires in over 30 years but I actually called the local Toyota dealer yesterday.
Parts dept said they don't have 17" steel rims for my Highlander so I bailed
Saved myself about $ 1500.00. ;-)

We've got a skift of snow here at the moment, but the weather forecast
is calling for a few more snow showers this morning. Our grass is
barely, literally, covered. The feds have a two hour late arrival or
unscheduled leave. Wife is taking a vacation day, which is a good idea.

I don't mind a little snow: I'm glad the storm didn't nail us.

If you get this storm like we are getting, you won't be driving anywhere
anyway. All driving has been banned except for emergency vehicles, plows
and the media.

I am 10 miles north of Plymouth on the coast
and according to the news this area is getting really hammered.
Predictions still call for 24"+. Hard to tell how much has fallen
so far because the wind is blowing it everywhere. The back door to
our garage has a drift that's 3/4 of the way up the door. I opened
it to see what Sam Adams would do and he just looked at me as if to
say, "Are you ****tin' me"?

The temp got down to 50* last night, we'll have a high of 66* today.
There's a light breeze. Snow, that's something we see on TV!

When my wife's car needed new tires, the local car dealer had the best
price by far for four Michelins.

Yup.
When the original equip Toyo tires wore down on my RAV4, I priced new Michelin Latitude Tour tires at my dealer, COSTCO and at a well known local tire dealer
Toyota met the other two prices.

Those adverse to going on a Wal Mart shopping spree?

Although, I'll have to admit that Costco saved me about $80 total on the four Michellins I had
installed. Damn tires are getting expensive. What happened to the good ol' days when one could go to
the local Standard station and get used tires for $10?
