coal dust the miners were ingesting and the disease.

I was there at the invitation of Isadore Buff:

I. E. Buff

Occupational health crusader Isadore E. Buff (August 27, 1908-March 14,
1974) was born in Utica, New York and moved to Charleston with his
parents later that year. He graduated from the University of Louisville
School of Medicine in 1931.

A cardiologist, Buff was the first physician to complain that the death
certificates of coal miners frequently listed the cause of death as a
heart attack when he contended that pneumoconiosis-- black lung disease
--placed such a burden on the heart that it was the precipitating cause.
Long before others spoke out, Buff was thundering that half of the
state's 40,000 coal miners had black lung and were being denied workers'
compensation. Early on, the Charleston Gazette chastised him
editorially. Then he took on the United Mine Workers for failing to
include any coverage of lung disease in their contract.

In the late 1960s, Buff was joined by Drs. Donald L. Rasmussen and Hawey
A. Wells Jr. in organizing a series of coalfield rallies. Buff, an
accomplished showman, was the star performer. He was one of the key
forces behind liberalizing the state workers' compensation law to cover
pneumoconiosis and the Federal Coal Mine Health and Safety Act of 1969,
which put a ceiling on the amount of coal dust allowed in the mines and
provided compensation for black lung victims. Buff died in Charleston.

Ken Hechler was a congressman I knew who, while I was in West Virginia,
ran a successful re-election campaign against a Republican who called
himself the Wayne County Whippoorwill. Ken also wrote a book about WWII
that was turned into a pretty good war movie.

Those were fun times in The AP.

Cool story, bro! i.e. who gives a ****?

Coal and moonshine is pretty much all they had to make a living in
that area and even the miners were in denial about whether would kill
them.
One of my friends in the 50s was from coal people but his dad broke
loose and moved to DC to be a pressman for the Washington Post.
He said he thought the ink might kill him but it wasn't as bad as coal
dust. His family pretty much disowned him.

When they were building the DC Metro we had lots of coal miners who
moved there to blast subway tunnels. My nieces family was in the heavy
equipment business and they worked there too. I had a drink or 6 with
lots of those miners. Even in the 70s, they still ware not sure coal
was THAT deadly, in spite of the fact that everyone they knew had some
kind of problem from it..

Amazing how you can put on ther blinders when your livelihood is on
the line.

Like Krause making his living messing around with Mafioso. He ended up
dodging bullets, if you can believe him. He's still got the blinders on
re. his participation in illegal activities.

The personality similarities of Harry and Trump are amazing. Classic
narcissist.

One good aspect of this disorder through ... like Trump, Harry can
sometimes demonstrate a sense of humor. Sad part is that the root of
narcissism is insecurity. Narcissism is an abnormal compensation for an
inferiority complex.

I am enjoying your transformation from a supporter of Jeb Bush to a fan
of Donald Trump. It's so...Republican.

Whoooosh!

Only a narcissist could turn that statement into one of support for Trump (and
therefore himself).

I'd like to know when Harry thinks I acknowledged "support" for Bush,
Trump or anyone else for that matter. Never have. All I've ever
publicly acknowledged is my dislike of Hillary Clinton and Ted Cruz.
Other comments I've made about various candidates are simply
observations or comments on what they have said or done. I've even
indicated that people like Jim Webb and Joe Biden are worth consideration.

Bottom line is ... I don't have a clue who I will be voting for in
November of next year and I don't know if he/she will be Republican or
Democrat. All I know right now is it won't be Hillary.

Harry's style is to repeat untruths over and over until they take root.
It's dishonest and is one of the reasons he now resides in my Bozo Bin.

Careful that you don't let Harry sway you over to the dark side.
