Wow. Under $27/barrel and many industry experts say it will be going
lower, maybe even to $10/barrel. Layoffs in the oil companies on the
horizon.

Lowest gas price for regular around here that I've seen is $1.83.
Yesterday the same station was at $1.87.

Dow is down big time today also.

Luckily, I wasn't going to sell today. Now might be a good time to put money into a
529 plan - with Vanguard mutual funds.

Ya, Vanguard, good plan. I used the total stock market, VTSAX.
I put some money into a 3x leveraged fund when oil was about $35.
I was up 30% in weeks, now... I'm down over 80%.

I looked at some oil company bonds paying 45% to 80% interest.
IF, they survive, you'd get the interest every year, then at redemption
6 to 7 times your initial investment.

I am still not convinced these oil prices will last.
If they do, expect a far worse global downturn because production is
not that much higher and storage is at the breaking point. It means
the developing countries are simply not consuming even at bargain
prices and that is not a good thing.

You really have to watch what is going on in the house of Saud. If
they have a "spring" there, all bets are off. I will be loading up on
HAL and RTN.

I just bought into oil. It won't stay this low forever and I can wait a
long time.
