Since few artillery guns have that kind of range, that wouldn't make much sense anyway. Besides, if you're in range to reach out and touch someone with arty, that means you can be touched as well. You're definitely not out of harm's way. Don doesn't know much about the military. Spent a lot of time learning about sweeping though. |

A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion: There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin... I am right in the middle of that culture here in northern Michigan. Lots of hunters here Might be "sporting" if the deer could be trained and armed to shoot back... For you, just the walk would be 'sporting'. Is it 'sporting' to kill beef the way they do to get it on your table? |

I don't really have a dog in this fight. I don't hunt. We walked about 5 miles today in the Manistee national forest but we didn't see anyone shooting or really anything to shoot at. Yesterday we were near Cadillac in a game preserve near Mitchell SP and the red squirrels were pretty thick. I doubt the seasons are open here yet. They do have hunter classes running in a lot of places. |

It's typical Krause, denigrating those who participate in an activity he doesn't enjoy. Krowsie doesn't have the stomoch for killing but he sure does like eating the kill. -- x ----Android NewsGroup Reader---- http://usenet.sinaapp.com/ |

I looked in on a couple of these classes and these are not the Yahoos Harry would make them out to be and just finding a deer that will let you get close enough to shoot them here is going to be hard work. This is not the petting zoo we have around our cities. It is rough terrain and spooked animals. The "hiking trail" we were on was pretty much wild woods. |
