Campgrounds? I just looked and Tesla does have an onboard charger and it will work on a 14-50 or a 1-15/5-20 if you have the right adapters with you. The optional "Dual Charger" doubles the power it can take. === You could get one of those "rear shelf" kits that mounts on a trailer hitch receiver and install a couple of Honda generators on it. Campgrounds? I think you need more than a handy 14-50r Perhaps you could carry a charger in the trunk and put an RV plug on it but you better have a few adapters. Nissan's "Leaf," which lists at about $30,000, gets just over 100 miles per charge and is opting for a larger capacity battery for the 2017 model, a change that promises about 150 miles per charge. I don't know if that includes running the AC. I drive about that many miles per week unless we're going somewhere out of the local area. |

A typical 24,000 BTU inverter A/C unit (roughly what a car uses) will use 2.5 KWH so it will eat some battery. Heat will be an even bigger hit. |
