16 years ago I quit this group and to see it's even worse than it was then. Amazing.

It was a more pleasant and lively place with even a few on topic
discussions before the snarly right-wingers went berserk and chased out
all but one or two of those a little to the left of center politically.
I predict it is going to get even stinkier when the two of us who are
lefties jump off this stinking ship and leave it to the likes of
Herring, Old Fart, and a few of their cloister of crackheads. No,
Fretwell, you ain't in the crackhead group. Sorry.

You seem to be one of the most "political" posters. I have just given
up on the idea that this is actually a boat group but it is still
entertaining.
I subscribe to two "boat groups". I call one the big boat board and it
is well moderated, this is the silly boat board where things
definitely can get pretty silly.
I am still not mad at anyone here and I would be happy to sit down for
a beer with any of you guys.
BTW I will be in Ridge the first weekend of October. (sat or sun)
Friday is my high school reunion down near Capitol Hill. (Marriott)

I dunno. I'm in several large discussion groups on facebook, two of
which are moderately political and contain posters of all political
stripes. There's none of the nastiness from the righties there as there
is from the righties here.

I'll be in New Haven the first weekend in October, I think. My high
school sweetie is celebrating her 70th, her husband is a buddy of mine,
and we have lots of friends in common who will be attending, including
some I have not seen since high school days. If my plans change, I'll
let you know and we can visit an appropriate beer joint.

If you could put up with Krause in person, you've a much stronger stomach than I. He's the same in
person as he is here, narcissistic blowhard.

Mr Ed is on Facebook but I don't pay much attention to it ;-)

OK. We are trying to stuff a lot of visiting into a 4 day trip but I
would have a beer with you if it was easy

I have a feeling there will be plenty of that going on at the reunion
but who knows.
I am just going to be me, shorts, boat shoes and no socks, I may not
fit in there. FKM.
Nobody has said anything about what to wear but it was jackets, white
shirts and ties in school. We are all around 70 now. I hope some of
them have loosened up. Something tells me this guy might still be a
little up tight. (class of 63)

Funny comment from Herring. The two of us had one five minute
conversation face to face more than a decade ago when we "shared" a boat
storage marina. My recollection is that I complimented him on how well
he maintained his boat (it was literally spic and span), and that I
invited him on my boat for a look-see. His wife was far more pleasant
than he was. After that, I saw him at the marina a couple of times and
said hello once or twice, but that was it as far as conversation went.

And that was all it took!
