Good morning, Mike. Nice to see your smiling here on this fine Sunday morning. I'm waiting for the 9
o'clock hour to roll around so I can crank up the leaf blower without ****ing off the neighbors too
much.

Chop down those oaks and plant evergreens or palm trees. Raking
leaves is about as nasty as shoveling snow.

Palm trees are pretty dirty too and you can't just run over the stuff
with a lawn mower like I do the oak leaves.

You pick it up and carry it to the curb. Your oak leaves aren't
like yankee oak leaves.

Mulching the leaves with a mower is an option during the first couple weeks of fall. After that
there are just too many leaves.

Don't you guys have wives to do this kind of stuff?
Mikek :-)

Good thing you put the smiley there!

I don't do nearly as much yard work as she does. She mows the lawn,
edges, fertilizes, spreads weed killer, and moves sod. She also takes
care of plants in a 24 x 40 greenhouse, mostly trees and about 30 more
fruit trees outside of that.
Did a tell the story about coming home from work and she ask me to
get the lawn mower down. What? "Well I'll show you." she had drove the
riding lawn mower vertical up the chain link fence. All 4ft 7in of her
could not get it back down!
Did I mention she also works an additional 50 to 60 hours at the
business! No chance of me getting her to retire. I'm retiring in 33 days!

I was walking the dogs one day and went by a beautiful lawn. A guy was getting out of his car in the
driveway, and I commented to him how beautiful his lawn was. His response was that his wife did all
the work. So I asked him to pass the compliment to his wife. He said, "OK."

A couple days later I walked by again. This time the wife is outside, so I commented on the
beautiful lawn and asked if her husband had passed on the compliment.

"Oh no," she said, "he's not said a word."

Oh well.

The tree cutters around here want from $2000 to $4000 to take down one of these buggers. They're way
too big for me to mess with. I stop at about the 8-inch caliper.

Seems reasonable considering what might happen if you let mother
nature do it.

True. But I can't afford to get all mine cut down. And, I don't rake leaves. I blow 'em. I decided I
wanted a blower that would do the job and got one of the PB-755ST. It's a blowing fool.
http://www.echo-usa.com/Products/Blowers
In another year, I'll be good enough to become an illegal Mexican immigrant and get a good job
blowing leaves down there.

Nice. I bought an EB802RT a while back.
http://www.shindaiwa-usa.com/products/blowers.aspx
I have a couple of acres with at least twenty 70 foot oaks, and a little blower just didn't get the job done. We did cut out about 14 trees in the front yard, including 4 big oaks, to put in a circular drive this past summer. The reduction of leaves in the front is nice, but the cooling bill went up.

Whoa! That engine's bigger than mine, and I thought mine was pretty good size. All I have is 1/3
acre, but I do have 11 oaks - all big mothers!

The Echo's are nice. Bad thing about mine is the weight... it's not light, but I don't have to lug it around as long. The comment about a little blower wasn't aimed at you, it was about my other blower. It was the best one Lowes had at the time, a Husqvarna, but it just wan't getting the job done. I can do it in half the time with the Shindy.

Today I did my yard and that of two neighbors (both females living by themselves with 1/3 to 1/2
acres lots and lots of oaks. I'm a tired puppy.

I tore out a 10x16 dock today and sawed it all up into bite size
pieces for the trash man. Tomorrow I am taking the boat over to do the
concrete trick on the old pilings. Saturday the wife and I will run
the boat back over to hang the water side stringers and next week I
will build the new dock. (father in law's house)
