Anyone tried one of these conversions? I'm thinking of trying it on the Guzzi.

Tim, if you're there, any ideas on whether this would work?

Oughta work. But 170 bucks is a bit out of it for me though. All the new big Guzzi's are equipped with them. I'm not sure who else at the moment.

I've had pretty good with Chinese imports on Amazon. You need to
read the reviews though.

I did the h4 bulb with heatsink conversion on the beemer to reduce the load on the rotor/alternator, as you know the Bosch system is the weakest link on Guzzi/Bmw.

I've heard some northern neighbors complain of condensation issues in the lense.

Mines new enough (2000 Jackal) that it's got the brushless System which is fairly reliable, but unlike the Bosch or Marelli system, it needs to be almost up to road speed to knock the indicator light out its fault bulletproof unlike the Boach rotors dying..,

My old ambassador has the Marelli 350w generator with the mechanical VR. It's also 350w rated. If the bike was runnable, it let it go till it quit then mount something else in its place...

Tell me. That's why I'm looking for LED stuff. Any more info on the conversion you did?

Yeah, but electronically do you think they might work?

John, I took a look and electrically they'll work fine. They operate on anywhere from 9-36 volts, and will consume less current than a standard halogen headlight. From the reviews it looks like some folks had to slightly modify their housing to mount them.

....

Sure it'll work. That's what it's made for. I don't know if it's a direct fit though. I've heard usually not.

But yes the light is "white". Perfect for a racist like you John Herring. LOL!

Thanks. I may give it a shot. I had thought those LEDs were very sensitive to voltage fluctuations.
Maybe they're making them more adaptable now.
