That's a great price and .223 is a lot cheaper than .45 Auto! They come with scope rings and a Picatinny rail you can use for other optics. |

Will do it in the next couple days most likely. I saw an article in the NRA rag about the Big Horn Armory M89 carbine that looked interesting. If I was going to but an LE, I would look at that one. The problem is it is 500 S&W mag so I might have to start reloading to afford to feed it. It is a couple bucks a shot. |

A 500 S&W MAG lever action probably is overkill for those Florida armadillos. ![]() Apparently I own the same Mini-14 Herring wants to buy, though I did treat it to a trigger job and I picked up a nice wood stock which I have yet to install. I shoot mostly Wolf Gold ammo through it..."brass" ammo that I buy when it is around 25 to 28 cents a round. That's a lot "friendlier" than "a couple of bucks a shot." I like the Mini-14...it's fairly short, light, reliable, and with its piston-operated mechanism, it doesn't seem to get too dirty inside. Sure sends the brass flying, though...when I go to the public range, I try to shoot from a lane where there's no one in the next lane to the right. ![]() I have a buddy who has that stainless mini 14 in selective fire. He has a matching stainless scope on it and wooden furniture tho, not the plastic. Unlike most people here, I do not bother the armadillos, possums or raccoons. |

Pointing out that the one I'd linked to was a synthetic stock was very nice. I may have accidentally ordered that one. That was the most worthwhile post you've made here in months and months. This is the one I will probably order within the next couple days, unless I find a better deal. http://grabagun.com/ruger-mini-14-22...-18-5-5rd.html |

You can get a replacement wood stock from Boyd's starting at $129. I put one on the .17. Everything was a perfect fit. |

I'll just order the Model 5802 with the wooden stock, will use the savings to buy a couple 20rd magazines. |
