Energy from water http://www.aerodefensetech.com/compo...29&bid=1834681 === It's an interesting discovery but it's important to remember that it is a chemical reaction which consumes itself as the hydrogen is generated. So in addition to water, you'd also need to carry around an ample supply of the aluminum "dust" that sparks the reaction. The real holy grail of hydrogen energy is discovery of a catalyst that decomposes water into hydrogen and oxygen in the presence of sunlight. Yup and they did not say how much this powder costs per kilo. I understand if it is the military or the space program, cost is no object but I would like it if they could get something that works for the masses. Assuming the production facility is not a toxic waste generator it might be the start of a clean energy plan for vehicles. |
