![]() Went out on a boat today. The San Diego out of Seaforth Landing. Very well maintained boat. I have probably ridden it for 20 years of fishing. Asked and the boat is 52 years old. Extremely well maintained. We were fishing Yellowfin tuna today. Had forgot my passport and the Coronado Island trips require Passport. But the offshore tuna fishing broke open, so non passport trips were offered. I landed 4 fish, probably to 25 pounds. Lost a couple. Limit is 5. Fish Mexican waters, probably the most we were South of SD was 35 miles. Rain early this morning, but turned in to a nice day, fair seas. Am going to test drive the Hobie I11s inflatable kayak tomorrow. Too hard to get the Outback on top of a 9' RV roof. |

Apparently you are not aware there are large boats in the San Diego area that provide overnight accommodations for fishing trips that can last many days, including the boat Bill went out on, the "San Diego." In addition, some of the boats in the fleet go out on day trips. Thus, was the fishing trip an overnighter or a day trip. |

Harry was correct. San Diego Fleet has a large variety of boats. 1/2 day, morning or afternoon local trips. 3/4 day 5:30 am to 6pm, no bunks, does have a grill and cook. Overnight boats that run 1-3 day trips and then the long range boats that run 7-15 day trips. I have not gone on a long range trip for 3 years. The 7-8 day trips I have been on run to Rocas Illejos which is 465 miles from Point Loma docks. I like the Independence. Www.independencesportfishing.com |

What is the $$$ charge for that? $100 or so? I think I'll be in SD in the spring, and might have time for a 3/4 day trip. |

Most of the 3/4 days fish the Coronado Islands and they now require a passport. We were offshore fishing tuna so no PP required. We defend illegal visitors , but Mexico arrests them and confiscates their possessions. |
