That is where Spiro Agnew came from and he was the reform candidate. Second place was the 4 or 5 counties in Southern Maryland where they had slot machines but it was a different kind of corruption. The southern maryland corruption was just what happened to the money skimmed from the slot operation and the way they handed out licenses. (Basically pay to play). It wasn't wide spread systemic malfeasance |
