We can't urge our children to win, we have to nurture them and give them participation trophies. No spanking, just talk to them like you're their friend. No keeping score, and no red ink on school papers. Can't make that child feel bad, why, they are entitled to have it all!

Well guess what. Your job as a parent is NOT to be your child's friend. It is to teach them how to be a well-adjusted kid and adult. If you and society have shielded them all their lives, when the real world smacks them in the face they may just snap.

This kid was reported a year ago for posting he was going to be a
professional school shooter. Why was he not monitored? Guns maybe be
part of the problem, but they were not hard to get when I was a kid. Lot
easier to legally acquire. Why not the same gun problems then? Guns are
a tool of the warped people, not the reason. We need to find a cure for
the reason, not take tools away.
