... I wear a T-shirt, hand lettered on the back, "This vet wants to DUMP BUSH." I meet the most interesting people this way. Last week a guy admonished me, stating I should give the administration a break, that they are "doing the best they can do." What a sobering thought. Capt. Jeff Low expectations. Sad. |

Just like in Moscow. As a member of the generation that grew up during the darkest years of the "cold war" I remember the daily doses of propaganda that propped up the likes of J.Edgar and his ilk. It simply amazes me when I hear representatives of our current crop of sorry excuses for leaders spouting the same things their predecessors used to claim were reasons to fear and hate the "godless commies" who threatened our freedom. I believe the only reading any of those fascist wannabes have ever read is the "Kremlin Handbook of Propaganda and Civil Disinformation" They have mastered it. Rick |

Rick There's another period that bears comparison and that's Orwell's 1984 (or, more accurately, England 1948). Bush's presidency will be historically revealed as Karl Rove's Big Brother communications experiment. He's proven the methodology still works as well as ever. One can only hope it's just another outbreak and something will slap us back to consciousness. |

I enjoy seeing the liberal faction in their own circle jerk. This is not surprising. Many studies have shown that the authoritarian personality, that represented most often by self described "conservatives," is most often associated with those displaying psychoscocial pathologies. Wally's post is an excellent example of such a condition. Hopefully his symptoms are limited to his self admitted voyeurism. Rick |

Putting the Lie to Bushisms
http://irregulartimes.com/lie.html OOPS! That page is several years old, (Al Gore was still running for POTUS when it was constructed), but it did contain a useful link to a site with actual, current Bushisms. Thanks! One of my favorites at the refenced sites: "This is an open forum. You are able to come and listen to what I have to say." :-) http://slate.msn.com/id/76886/ |

I don't read what's handed to me. People say, 'Here, here's your speech, or here's an idea for a speech.' They're changed. Trust me."—Interview with the New York Times, March 15, 2000 For once, I believe every word in in entire paragraph uttered by GWB! |
