One thing I forgot to mention is that some of the cheap amplified TV
antennas have the RF amp as a separate item at the end of the antenna
cable, closest to the TV. That makes no sense in weak signal areas.

It should have the amplifier mounted in the antenna itself, so it boosts
the signal before going through the cable to the TV.

I've seen both types in stores and on the 'net.
