I have to admit that I've never enjoyed a Vietnam documentary of any kind. But, based on your recommendation, I'll give it a shot. Most of today is supposed to be rainy anyway, and there's no golf to watch. Besides, Tiger really disappointed me last weekend. I had put off some outdoor projects thinking this week would be a washout. Last week the weather people were working overtime issuing dire warnings of severe thunderstorms, torrential rains, flash flooding and all sorts of calamities in our area starting last Saturday night and lasting for most of this week. I think I heard one, distant soft roll of thunder Saturday morning and we had a few sprinkles that didn't even wet the roadways. Yesterday was sunny but humid with a few clouds but no rain. Looks like today will be similar. Maybe if I go out and start my projects the rain will quickly begin. We need some rain around here. Lawns are drying up and running sprinklers doesn't help ... just a waste of water. We had over 6" here on Saturday. Yesterday morning loud thunder and lots of rain. Off and on throughout the day. Today's forecast is 100% chance of thunderstorms throughout the day. I've got a new bug deflector for the truck. Hopefully it'll dry up long enough to install it. https://www.carid.com/images/avs/ite...d-oncar-03.jpg Pretty. The whole front of my camper is covered with bugs. It'll probably take an hour to clean up. Today we do the beartooth highway. We've done it before but this time we have a dashcam. Sounds like fun. I put this stuff on my rig this spring. Forecast for some rain tomorrow. I'm home. Justan is out running around burning up our non-renewable resources and contributing to global warming. Don't know about that. There'll be a bumper crop of corn this year. I was out playing in the snow earlier today. Global warming, really? They using corn for diesel now? Hereabouts it's more like global wetting than warming. How was the FMCA rally? Dunno what's in biodeisel? Rally was good. Didn't get to all the seminars I planned to attend. Entertainment by Ricky Nelsons twin sons was very good. Others were ok. Lots of venders and lots of new and used RVs for sale. FMCA now allows towables to join. If you are interested go to fmca.com for information. If you and herring show up at the same RV Jamboree, does everyone else's head explode? I think the most talented member of that Nelson family was Sharon Kristin Harmon, Ricky's ex-wife, who died earlier this year. She was a painter. How did you come to that conclusion? Your thinkerator has been broken ever since the union took over your brain and made you a socialist. Ozzie, Harriet, and David didn't do much for me. Teen-aged girls liked Ricky-Ticky because he was "cute." Sharon Harmon was a decent actress and a damned good artist-painter and was considered the inheritor of the style of Anna Mary Robertson Moses. |

Keyser Soze - show quoted text - "If you and herring show up at the same RV Jamboree, does everyone else's* head explode?" snip... I'd certainly recommend that they lock up the washrooms. If two hillbillys like The John and Justine showed up at the same time it could overload the facilities. If and when you ever get enough money and sense to buy the camper you want, you might find that 'the facilities' are on board. Locked up washrooms would have no meaning. Biodiesel can be produced from straight vegetable oil, animal oil/fats, tallow and waste cookingoil. The process used to convert these oils to Biodiesel is called transesterification. 'Transesterification' sounds like something that could leave you very sterile if not careful. But I've heard of folks making biodiesel in their garage with old McDonalds french fry grease. So I'm looking at the Chapter By-laws for the Dogwood Chapter of the FMCA, and look what I see: ARTICLE III - MEMBERS 5.A member must own a qualifying motor coach (motorhome) or at least 1/3 interest in a qualifying motor coach (motorhome) in order to vote or hold office in this chapter. 6.The term qualifying motor coach, is defined as a self-propelled, completely self-contained vehicle that contains all the conveniences of a home, including cooking, sleeping, and permanent sanitary facilities, and in which the drivers area is directly accessible in a walking position from the living quarters. The terms motor coach and motorhome may be used interchangeably. Maybe the word hasn't gotten down to the chapters yet? The individual chapters can have their own rules. Ours chose not to allow towables. Too funny, really. "Members must own a 'qualifying' motor coach." Wow, how exclusive. The aim is to keep folks like you out. |

Just got back from an all day Red Bus tour, to a busted air conditioner. Were you able to climb the steps to the concessions at the top? The air is pretty rare up there. Actually to us, is not bad. Glacier is not really high elevation. We go to Tahoe which is 6000’ and Donner Pass is 7000. We come back 89 over Carson Pass which is 9000. We do not hike as much these days. 75 and bad knees. Our toughest hike was going up to our room at Grand Targee in Wyoming. It is about 8000 feet in the parking lot and we were on the 4th floor (no elevator). My wife offered me $100 to go get her tablet from the car ;-) The hike up the mountain (2200 feet up) did not seem as hard. |
