I understand working outside is harder than working an air conditioned
job but once you get out of the Acela Corridor those cushy white
collar jobs are harder to come by and automation has decimated that
business as much as it has eliminated manufacturing jobs. Most
companies have completely eliminated several layers of management and
the administration jobs that support them. When the CFO has
information on his phone that used to require a department of 100 to
provide, that office building gets a lot lonelier.

I understand construction may not be the cup of tea for snow flake
city boys but it is one of the jobs that is not going to be exported
and for the most part not eliminated by automation although automation
can eliminate some jobs. My stock in the modular home company has been
steadily going up, even through the 2008 recession and recovery.
Fortunately for us down here, most factory built homes will not meet
the Florida wind code so the block masons still have all the work they
can handle.
