...Stormy's hook:

A lawyer for President Donald Trump has filed a court document arguing
that the hush-money agreement with adult film actress Stormy Daniels is
not valid and calling for removal of the president from a lawsuit
seeking to dissolve the deal.

The filing in Los Angeles federal court by Trump’s attorney Charles
Harder says that “Mr. Trump hereby stipulates that he does not, and will
not, contest Ms. Clifford’s assertion that the Settlement Agreement was
never formed, or in the alternative, should be rescinded,” The Wall
Street Journal reported.

The filing comes a day after Michael Cohen also moved to rescind the
nondisclosure deal. Cohen said he arranged at Trump’s instruction to pay
Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump
before the presidential election. Trump, however, never signed the deal.

Cohen and Trump’s attorney said in their filings that they will not sue
Daniels for any breach of the deal.

But Trump paid the gal $130,000... Explain that away, Donnie Dampknuts.

Paying blackmail is never pretty.
If he is denying the NDA, he might be preparing for a case that this
was simple extortion.

Occam's Razor...Trump doesn't want to testify or give a sworn statement.

At a certain point, he might not have to. If he can find a friendly US
attorney this might end up being US v Clifford et al.
Trump might be able to get a bucket of popcorn and watch.
18 U.S. Code § 875 springs to mind if Stormy and her lawyer were
talking about this on the phone.

I wouldn't mind seeing her lowlife lawyer charged with something.

If all of these gyrations about the NDA are angling for an extortion
charge, the lawyer may actually be in more trouble than Stormy. If
they add interstate conspiracy to the bill it might not even stop
there. I have been saying all along, Stormy may end up getting
screwed again and this time not even getting paid.
It certainly seems that they reached out to Cohen first and that may
be the first nail in their coffin. Cohen might still be ****ed at them
enough for ruining his life that he spins that contact as a threat.

The worst thing that might happen this case is that Lying Donald
gets off the hook for an interrogation. Stormy will keep the $130,000
and Avanatti will get legal fees. `I know you Trump supporters are
hopeful that your boy Donald gets off the hook on this particular mess,
but remember, there are many more messes facing him.

I am not sure what "hook" he is on. At least with the Stormy debacle.
It has been established that he is the one who came up with the money
so any campaign violation is either moot or so minor that it is a
little fine.
OTOH if he is clearing the way for an extortion charge, the tables
will definitely turn and Stormy will be spending any of that buck
thirty she has left on more lawyers. Avanatti may need the public
defender since he is already bankrupt from his last legal
misadventure.
