Default 9/11 story

I was just reading about this and thought I'd share here. Pretty cool.

9/11 story.

Just before the 9/11 attacks, the USS Winston Churchill, a US Navy
destroyer was visiting Portsmouth, England on a goodwill visit. Also at
Portsmouth was a German destroyer, also participating in the goodwill
visit. The crews got together for recreational activities until the
events of 9/11/01 unfolded. The USS Churchill was ordered to get
underway and await further orders. Unknown to the crew, the German
destroyer also got underway, met up with the Churchill at sea and
requested to pass close by. Permission was granted and the picture
below is from that meeting at sea. The German destroyer was flying an
American flag and it's crew were standing at attention on deck in their
dress uniforms, some holding the sign that is visible in the picture
that says, "We Stand By You"
