You can't get into DC without getting close to the beltway. You have
to go over it or under it. The Beltway circles the city. I am guessing
his bus goes down the Suitland Parkway that intersects Md Rt 4 right
past the end of the runway at Andrews. Rt 4 goes right down to his
"hood".
I do seem to remember him saying he was taking the train but that is
still right in that same area at Silver Hill Road. Most of the drive
is the same but parking is cheaper.
I used to use Suitland parkway myself but I got off at Rt 5 to go to
Clinton. It gets you through "Souf Esse" with a minimum of gunfire
;-)
When I lived in Oxon Hill it was a toss up whether you wound around
and took Suitland Parkway or just went down 210 to South Capitol. Once
you got across the bridge, traffic wasn't that much different either
way.

I agree with Harry the Krause and Farris thing looks to be wrong. That

Actually, if we drive to the Metro in Suitland, the commute to downtown
typically is under an hour. If we drive in in non-rush, it can be less
than an hour. I don't often have to go into DC for meetings, though.
Wife typically drives to Metro, parks, and takes the Metro to within a
half block of her office. Not bad. Downtown DC parking is $25+ at most
places...parking at the Metro station is a small fraction of that.

I don't ride the bus downtown anymore and haven't in a long time. I've
told you this several times. Try to get your fossilized brain to absorb
a bit of new data.

It wasn't that long ago.
With this virus thing I can see why you wouldn't want to get on a bus
and ride into a hot zone tho at your age.

What is surprising is why Fat Harry wants to go to work anyway.
Paralegal is tedious, boring, thankless job. people who do the job
usually think of it as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. And
the people who do the job are usually youngsters, not the nearly
octogenarian that Fat Harry is?
