Twice as many reported in Florida, but also almost three times the
population than Maryland.

Harry. it looks like you're state is worse off....

A lot worse off, about 5 times the population in Florida.

Duh. The numbers, impact, and progress of the ailment on and through a
population are moving targets, as it were, and there are many factors
that bear weight on them. I think you claimed you were some sort of
science student. Apparently you skipped a lot of classes.

You claimed to be some sort of writing student. Joe Biden school of
education? As to the science of infection. Pretty damn simple. Your
state has 1/5 the population of Florida, but about 1/2 the number of cases.
That makes like Maryland is 2.5 times worse off per capita.

Talk about a "moving target" (as it were).

Harry is the perfect example as he tries to talk himself
out of this one. HA HA HA HA HA HA!

The moving target up there is the rising infection rate but I suppose
those PG and Montgomery County folks are not going to do anything "the
man" tells them to do so they are going to keep getting infected. I
suppose we will be testing the herd immunity thing there tho.

There hasn't been enough testing anywhere in this country to determine
an "infection rate." No one knows how many people have been infected and
therefore it is impossible to infer what an infection rate might be.
Even an English major knows this. Why don't you?

Actually there have been some studies. Stanford just published one done in
Santa Clara county. Antibody testing showed the infection rate may be
50-85 times greater than published. Seems as f an English major knows
jack ****.

You are right, When I looked deeper that included the whole DC
Baltimore metro area and a hot spot around Richmond
Still with over 3 times the population and 6 times the area, half is
not a number I would brag about, particularly since the numbers of new
Maryland cases are still going up rapidly. (along with DC and
Virginia)

We seem to be flattening the curve and about half of the cases are
still in the 3 counties dominated by north easterners.
The number of deaths peaked on 4/6 and is going down.

I wasn't bragging about Maryland's numbers. I simply pointed out your
math error.

You have also been whining that Florida is doing it all wrong and yet
your state has twice the infection rate per capita and still rising.
We seem to be over the hump and our new infection rate is leveling off
or declining.

And once again, you step into it. My comments on Florida were aimed at
your moronic governor's failure, early on, to close the beaches and
promote social distancing. I have no idea what Florida is doing the
pandemic lately.

And once again, once again, until testing is a lot more widespread, we
have no idea what the actual infection rate is across a large
population. We can say that "for those tested, the rate of infection was
x%." Of course, many of those tested present with symptoms, real or not,
so I'm not sure that is much of a valid test beyond what it tells us
about those who have or think they have symptoms.

South Dakota had virtually no infections until it turned out they have a
lot, especially in Minnehaha (a guess at the spelling) County, where
that packing plant is. But the state has a growing number of cases in
other counties, too. What does it mean? Among other things, without
widespread testing, you don't know much of anything.

They did not have to close the beaches and ramps until the young from up
north, not Florida ignored all the rules. Seems as if the Floridian
people are smarter as a whole than a bunch of Northeast college students.

The ones who got the ramps closed were locals. Those yuppies over
there with go fast boats and go slow brains like to hang out on little
sandbar islands every weekend and party. You can go to "The Hull
Truth" and meet them if you want. It seems to be about who has the
fastest boat and the hottest girlfriend and they like to show both of
them off.
