Wasn’t the shelter in place to reduce the rate of increase? Not to reduce
the to stall number..

The rationale was that reducing the rate of spread would "flatten the
curve" and prevent health care facilities from being overwhelmed by a
sudden influx of patients. That seems to have been at least partially
successful in the NY metro area. The rate of new infections there
remains high but for the most part have been manageable by hospitals.
That may not hold true if the infection rate starts rising in more
rural areas that have fewer resources.

Lester Holt just told me most of these are asymptomatic, only found by
the increased testing.

They do have a hot spot in Montgomery AL so they are moving cases to
Bombingham. The Rheem factory may be a source of a lot of these
