Anybody ever do anything like the do it yourself river boats in Europe.
Saw an advert in the BoatUS magazine and sounded interesting.

Le Boat is a big global operation. We once chartered one of their
boats for a week in the south of France. The boat was well clean, ran
well, and was well equipped/maintained. I'd recommend them based on
our experience.

We rented this barge on Lake Powell for a few days.

It had twin 60 EFI Mercs on it that were just about enough to make it
go. It was pretty nice tho although I think they were planning on a
bigger crew. This thing sleeps about 11. Since my wife is pretty much
a passenger, it was a handful to dock.

With all that windage and shallow draft I'd imagine that it could be
scary in close quarters. Lake Powell is a spectacular place to go
boating however. We rented a 20 something I/O runabout for an
afternoon once and really enjoyed it.

Have thought of renting a large houseboat there and taking the daughters
families.

Bill, it’d be cheaper that way. Yeah. High price for rental but when your done with it you turn the keys back to them and that’s it. Cheaper than owing it by far

We spent 3 nights on the boat, beached in different coves on the lake.
They had a fairly well equipped galley and most of the comforts of
home.
