It was Just Fat Harry and his janitor, Karen The discussion was about Biden and some of his early appointees, but since you brought it up, what high-level civilian employment was held by you and your wife? You fixed lawnmowers*, right, and what did your wife do, work as a greeter at Wal-Mart? Thank goodness for the Navy, right, because without it, you'd still be pumping gas at a Jenney station. Hey, have you been traveling the country a lot in your RV bus, exposing yourselves and others to COVID-19? * Hey, I fixed lawnmowers, too, when I was about 11 year ago, in a far corner of my dad's shop. Also got to assemble Lambretta motor scooters, which arrived from Italy in wood crates and were only about 80% put together to save space. So, I could have done your civilian employment job while I was in grammar and junior high. -- *Expand the Supreme Court!* |

There's no place for lawn mowers and 2nd rate imported scooters in a busy boat shop. Besides at 11 you were too busy squeezing pustules to be struggling with mechanical things. |

There's no place for lawn mowers and 2nd rate imported scooters in a busy boat shop. Besides at 11 you were too busy squeezing pustules to be struggling with mechanical things. When my dad first opened his boat shop after WWII, it was located on Water Street, near the train station, in New Haven. He was also a franchised dealer back then for Indian motorcycles, Cushman scooters, and I forgot the brand name, but some line of lawn mowers. Some years later, when I was in grade school, he built a new showroom, store, and shop on the main commercial U.S. highway outside of New Haven. He kept the Cushman line and the lawnmowers, because the Cushman sales were year-around, and helped him keep his shop employees on the payroll in the winter. The Cushman scooters never evolved much, and sometime in the 1950s, Vespa and Lambretta scooters starting taking over the market, especially with the college students in the New Haven area. So he dropped Cushman and took on Lambretta. They were pretty nice scooters, actually, with 125 or 150 cc motors. I drove one around whenever I could, illegally, of course, because I was too young for a Connecticut license. They were really nice looking scooters for their time, and great magnets for teen-aged girls. Oh, sorry, I never had acne. Ever. What do you do with the syphillis-related pustules that pockmock your face? -- *Expand the Supreme Court!* |
