Took the boat out yesterday to test the jet drive rebuild. Failed. Has a
big rattle, so will pull pump,apart when it. Warms up. 40 degrees this
morning. Mid 60’s later. So, yesterday, I used the kicker and the bow
mount trolling motor to fish for striped bass. Trolling only caught weeds
in the Sacramento River. Bait fished anchovies and must be a ton of little
stripers. Only one good hit which did not stick and the bait was otherwise
gone quickly. Hot in the afternoon, but had to put on the float coat near
sunset. Flat calm. Did see a river otter, have not seen one for years.
Used to be a big family of them near Sherman Island.
