So, I keep getting promotional emails from my cell phone service
provider and from Apple telling me I should upgrade my cellphone model
to one capable of "5G" service, but there's no explanation of why I
would want to do so. All I want from my cellphone is a stronger signal
and better connectivity in areas not near a tower. Apparently this is
NOT an attribute of 5G. I don't play comuter games or watch movies on my
cellphone, and cell coverage down here in Redneck, Maryland isn't so hot
once you get a few miles away from the main highway.

So? Why 5G?

watching Netflix movies or video conferencing, not that we do a lot of

it disappears sometimes out in the boonies. 5G isn't going to help that.
I have cell coverage on my iPad, so that helps if we want to downstream
a movie, but usually we just use the wifi at the hotel. So, basically, I
still see no reason for upgrading hardware to 5G.

Never tried the iphone, but I can link the ipad to a tv set either "over
the air" or via a cable. I have an SDXC card in the iPAD and I can
transfer a lot of movies to it and either play them on the device or on
a hotel tv.

Our new Samsung TV connects automatically to my wife's Android tablet
or phone with an app. I have a PC under all of the TVs that uses the
TV as a monitor so I usually don't screw with the tablet.
