I did have some pain in my right toe, but I attribute that to a gazelle-like move I made in the kitchen yesterday when I banged it into the bottom of a cabinet. And the scratch on my hand resulted from a fight I had with one of the cats, who demanded I give up the last bite of a tunafish sandwich. Not all my luck has been bad, though. I did come across a two pound bag of frozen lobster claws for $19 at the local Harris Teeter. Bought these once before and they are great buy. Oh, and I also received a poorly written email from a pretty Slovakian lass of 26 who will "do anything" to come to America. Heck, I haven't dated a pretty girl that young since I was 47, so I forwarded her missive to my good buddy Donald J. Trump, aka "the former guy," who, if the rumors pan out, will be in the market for another European bride later this year, after Melancholia cashes in her pre-nup and heads back to her country of origin. That makes sense. Thanks. Hopefully, no new symptoms today or tomorrow and then I presume I am "home-free" in terms of negative vaccination side effects. My second shot was delayed a week because of our "snow days" here. -- * Lock up Trump and his family of grifters. * Slow going here for the shots. They just started 80 year olds and up. Registration system failed the first hour. We are expecting the new version from India that is only 62% effective. Thank goodness they won't give it to the 65 and older crowd. Trouble is it will still be a month or two before my age group ponys up. Some provinces are delaying the 2nd shot to speed up the 1st shot for more people. Delaying the 2nd shot? Idiots. There is a stated timeframe for the 2nd shot. I've read that in the case of the Moderna vaccine the second dose is recommended 28 days after the first however the time between the firstand second dose can be extended to 48 days.I've also read that the first Moderna and the first Pfizer dose raisesyour "immunity" to over 90 percent. The second dose only adds two orthree percent more, according to the testing. If true, it seems likeskipping the second dose making more vaccine available for others mightbe worth considering. I'd gladly forgo the second dose if Mrs.E.could receive her first instead.I am scheduled for the second Moderna dose next Saturday (March 13th)and am very fortunate that the VA made the vaccinations available. Most seniors in MA are still having a hard time scheduling anappointment to get the vaccine. Mrs.E. is on a waiting list attwo vaccination centers. Appointments are booked for over amonth in advance.-- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG.https://www.avg.com Our friends from Plymouth got their first shots at two different Publix. in Miami Monday. A 2 1/2 drive each way from their condo on Little Hickory Island. We had dinner with them last night. She's fine but she had to cut his meat for him because his arm is still unusable. He had to cancel two golf dates this week. People seem to react differently to the shot. I didn't notice anything after the first Moderna dose other than a very slightly sore arm the next day which is pretty much normal for any kind of shot. Hopefully it will be the same after the second dose next Saturday. We have friends up here who have already received the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Haven't heard of any bad reactions so far. It's still hard to get an appointment for any of the vaccines. Those who have been successful sit on a computer or cell all day long, watching for an opening at one of about four mass vaccination venues. Mrs.E. remains on a waiting list at a smaller, local facility. Have you guys received yours yet? My FIL and I are both waiting. Judy isn't eligible yet. |

Let's hear it again for socialized medicine. === I have yet to meet a Canadian who likes their health care system. I'm sure there are some, somewhere, but not where I am. Those that can afford it generally come here for elective surgeries. You'd quickly find out how many want our health system if any conservative gov't tried to take it away. We just want improvements in selected areas. The federal gov't started weaseling away at their share of the costs almost from the start. The government does not pay any of the costs. Say What! You really shouldn't comment on things you know nothing about. I did not know the Canadian government had business that made a profit, to take care of the people. I thought it was that close to a 1/4 Loonie a liter fuel tax. As well as the 18% VAT tax. Sorry, I was confused all these years. 15% HST on goods and services. You're being trolled. Just ignore the spoofer! |
