Default Boating info at the Auto Show

Our local Marine Trade Association has been running a Boating Information Booth
at public events. I get asked to work the booth fairly frequently, (that's what
you get for being on the sucker list).

This weekend we're at the Auto Show. Last year, during the same show, we
invited several hundred prospective boaters to attend the January boat show. We
got names and e-mail addresses to send them free boat show tickets.

We also answer (as well as we can) general run of the mill boating questions
and pass out literature. Well, at least we pass out printed material. Might be
hard to characterize some of our magazines etc as "literature." :-)

This is all part of the national Discover Boating program. It's a productive
use of time, helps build the sport at least a little, and is easy to do.

If you get a chance to work on a similar project in your own community, it is a
fun and worthwhile experience.
