last year's show!!

Just because the boat show in Miami coincides with a trip I have to take
to attend a meeting every year doesn't mean I go to the meeting so I can
go to the boat show.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

The Miami show is a fabulous boat show, really. Kinda ruins you for
other shows.

I think it's typical for all dark colored gelcoat to fade after 10
years or so, less if not kept up. It's rare to see a dark blue or red
older boat that is not badly faded unless its been repainted. After
17 years awlgrip is your friend (or any other good quality 2 part LP
paint).

I selected mine in white...but that was the only option for 2003 as far as I
know. The green is something new for 2004 in the smaller Trophys. Mine is
the 1802. After having had a red Sea Ray, I'd much prefer a white boat.
The two different greens are options on the Trophys this year (2004).
Hardware on mine is not undersized, mounted firm, all stainless. Plastic
thru-hulls above the water though. Everything is beded and sealed. Dealer
has been great.

The boat has taken 2 1/2 foot seas quite nice. I myself wouldn't venture
out in anything heavier than that in any 18 foot boat. I do have a friend
in California who has the same boat with the 115hp Merc 4 stroke and he's
had his out in 6 foot seas. But he's a bit nuts in my eyes. lol lol After
the first season I've no rust other than one screw on the bow rail. Easily
fixed. With the Merc 125hp Sal****er OB she's quick up on plane and I've
had her up to 41mph (GPS) with a little more to go. I'm quite happy with
the purchase and would recommend the boat. I know I'll consider Trophy
quite seriously when I'm ready to step up to a 23 for my next purchase.

Any idea why they don't make longer center consoles? My first thought is that
they need the cuddy portion of the walkaround to reinforce the hull. I looked
for a 23 CC at a boat show and found out they didn't exist. Seems odd for a
"sport fishing" line.

Without casting aspersions on Bayliner's Trophy line, it might be
pointed out that among the various sal****er fishing boat brands
available, the larger Trophies have not been big sellers. The last list
citing sales of new under 30' sal****er fishing boats that I saw had
Trophy 19th or 20th.

Most of the Trophies I see out on Chesapeake Bay are the smaller CC's.
