The real work of committees is done in closed session anyway. BTW, the dumb ass currently occupying the white house spent most of the time prior to 9-11 away from his office and on vacation. Well so it's meaningless that Kerry stays away but not meaningless that Bush takes a vacation? Interesting. If Bush is so dumb, what is he doing in the White House? |

Nothing is further from the truth. Why must you righties lie ALL of time? Meeting minutes are available to the congressmen, if they so choose. In those meeting minutes, which Kerry has explained because of the lying right wing, you'd see that in almost all of those thirty eight times, he WAS there, but was in private session. You righties spin well, I must say, because most don't know or realize that a lot of the time in committee meetings is spent in private sessions, along with other members. |

Basskisser,
When I heard that information about Kerry, it did not sound correct to me, but I have not been able to find the correct information about Kerry's attendance at intelligence committee meetings and the minutes at the meeting. Did you actually find some info to disprove the statements that are being made? "basskisser" wrote in message m... "Dan J.S." wrote in message ... Sen. Did you actually find some info to disprove the statements that are being made? Seems to be confidential information according to this article: (CNSNews.com) - Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry has criticized President Bush's response to the 9/11 Commission report, insisting that he would do a better job of fighting the war against terror. But according to the Republican National Committee, Kerry missed most of the public hearings when he sat on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence between 1993 and 2000. One of those hearings, the RNC indicated, happened about a year before the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks against the United States and focused on warnings of possible terrorist strikes and how those warning should be handled. In all, the RNC researchers discovered, Kerry missed 38 of 49 public hearings during the eight years he served on the intelligence panel. Sarah Ross, press secretary to Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), the current chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, said missing "the majority of a committee's open hearings," makes it "hard for Kerry to claim that he is Mr. Intel." It's unclear how many, if any, closed hearings Kerry missed while serving on the Intelligence Committee. Ross said most of the panel's hearings are closed, but "to release the records of the closed hearings is a difficult matter." Calls to the Kerry campaign requesting comment for this article were not returned ----------------------------- http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewPolitics....20040804a.html |

John Kerry to release his Intelligence Committee attendance records on Sunday - as controversy swirled over claims that the top Democrat was mostly a no-show during important hearings. "The easiest way out of this is for John Kerry and John Edwards to request [Committee Vice Chairman] Sen. Rockefeller and myself to release the attendance [records]," Roberts told NBC's "Meet the Press." http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2...5/123604.shtml I would like to see where Bass is getting his information from also. |

Seems like Kerry could clear up a lot of things if he opened up his military records and attendance record for the closed Intelligence Committee meetings he *allegedly* attended. And as was previously requested, perhaps you can show where you got your information from. |

jim--,
The information at a public meeting concerning intelligence would be very low level intelligence and is really a dog and pony show for senators to "sell" their own agenda to the press. Sure he should have attended more, so he could give the appearance of being actively involved, but what is important did he miss many of the closed session meetings and how did he vote on those issues. Which seems to be secret information and the true will not be known.. I consider myself a conservative, but I get bored with biased political crap, and this seems to be biased political crap, almost as bad as the crap Harry spews in this NG. One would expect Kerry to release this information if for no other reason
than to set the record straight. "jim--" wrote in message ... "Comcast News" wrote in message news:%UMUc.321108$JR4.44372@attbi_s54...
