Zogby Poll: No economic rebound

I guess not; I'm not well known in Iceland either just so you don't waste your time checking:-) Never heard of Britton Marine, eh? They're the Aussies who have adapted and modified diesel outboard technology: "Britton Marine Pty Ltd Britton Marine motor: diesel outboard motor Britton Marine has adapted an existing diesel outboard motor to create the most advanced unit in the world for shallow water mine clearance operations. This innovative technology incorporates and extensively modifies the Yanmar diesel outboard with major changes in fabrication, purpose-designed components and additional safety devices. The Britton Marine motor has ultra low magnetic and acoustic values. At set speed the governor maintains a constant rpm, reducing the acoustics of the engine even further. The unit runs on fossil fuel and does not emit pollution into the water – making it the most environmentally friendly motor in service. In polar conditions it can be run on A1 jet fuel. Other available units for this application utilise petrol motors, which are associated with significant reliability and safety hazards within a minefield. These include the oiling of sparkplugs, the risk of breakdown at slow speed and the effects of petrol fumes on the operator. The operational performance of the Britton Marine motor has been assessed and confirmed by the Australian Navy's Mine Warfare Section. The Australian Defence Industries' Huon Class Minehunter Project has ordered 24 units, with 12 already in operational service. The Britton Marine motor is designed to be coupled to the Gemini 530 Assault Boat, which itself incorporates low through-water acoustics. The Australian Navy has tested and approved this package and is now using it in service. This technology is ideally suited to the international defence industries. It is also envisaged that it will be used for clearance operations before any amphibious landing. Britton Marine owns all IP for this unique technology, which has been judged to be well in advance of other developments in its category – a major market advantage. To optimise its continuing R&D the company has entered into a collaborative agreement with the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation." --------------------------------- Interesting you know nothing of them, and confused "Britton" with Britain. I'd call you a a two-bit whore, but that would be insulting to quarters everywhere. I'm sure they exist but it';s just more spruikers after govt money. K Uh-huh. And the difference is that your "diesel outboard" manufacturing plant doesn't exist and never will exist. You're just a manure shoveler. -- Email sent to is never read. |

Zogby Poll: No economic rebound

It's a shame that the democrats offer no real platform of their own or offer any viable alternatives to the path we're currently on. Their only campaign issue is throwing mud at Bush. It's sad, truly sad. Dave Don't be so sad, Dave. There's a new "campaign" issue for the Democrats just coming to light today. I wish I lived in the home state of the brave Republican who just fessed up that he was offered $100,000 in campaign financing if he would drop his opposition to Bush's Medicare reform bill and vote "yes" rather than "no". I'd vote for a guy with that kind of integrity in a heart beat. Apparently this guy is about to retire, and his son is going to run for his seat. The $100k was to be given to the son's campaign. The rep was told by the backers of Bush's bill that if he *didn't* go along and change his vote to "yes", that the party would not only withhold the $100k bribe, but would work to insure that his son was defeated. This guy could afford to come forward because he *refused* the bribe. How many others accepted the bribe and voted for Bush's bill? You can bet we won't be hearing any complaints from them. I'd like to see every representative that accepted money for their vote resign. Democrats and Republicans alike. I'd like to see every cabinet level administrator involved with offering the bribes criminally prosecuted. If Bush was aware of the bribes, he should be impeached. Shall we believe this was the *only* instance? Wouldn't make sense, as the bill passed by a comfortable margin. Pretty sleeeeezy, guys. Y'all ought to be ashamed. Not much changes in the GOP from one decade to the next. The GOP works hard to see that we have the best darn government money can buy. And you don't think this same sort of arm twisting goes on on the other side of the isle? Don't be so naive. Welcome to the ugly reality of politics. Dave |

Dave You guys are so predictable: When caught with your hand in the cookie jar-(up to the elbow)- you never say "That really is embarassing! Certainly not a proud moment for the right wing. We should pressure the party leadership to make sure this sort of thing doesn;t happen again.." Nope. What we hear instead is "The left wing does this all the time. Clinton did it every day. Gore invented the practice originally. Hillary went back to colege to earn a PhD in the subject....." yada, yada, yada (Even though the D's are not currently in the spotlight for the same practice and no specific instance is offered as an example) After hundreds of excuses for unethical or even borderline criminal behavior all sounding like "He/She hit me first, Mama!" your side then has the 'nads to tell us all how you're a superior alternative the D party. How can that be, when you copy all of their (alleged) misdeeds? |

How can that be, when you copy all of their (alleged) misdeeds? The point is that this is a nothing revelation. Unless you were born yesterday, you'd know that there is a certain amount of palm greasing which goes on on both sides of the aisle. I'm not condoning it, or suggesting that this is behavior we should be proud of. But for the democrats to seize upon this "Much ado about nothing" issue, reflects the desperation and hypocricy that has become the status quo of the democratic party since their loss in 2000. They do nothing but sling mud. What positive issues have they offered up which isn't simply a slam of the republican party? I repeat, until the democrats can come up with a positive platform, which outlines exactly what (and how) they want to do to improve this country, and not simply to hold themselves up as the "anti-republicans", they don't stand a chance. The "I am not Bush" platform is not enough for me, and for most of the people who I associate with. Dave |

people who I associate with. Dave Be frank, Dave. A verifiable "I am God" platform wouldn't snag your vote, unless the Almighty just happened to be a Republican. :-) |

If God were our President, I suspect we wouldn't have to worry about
national security. Besides being omniscient, He throws a mean thunderbolt for surgical strikes. Also, His WMD's are second to none. If He were a Democrat, He's the sole candidate that could get my vote. Since He's not, it looks like I'll be voting for Bush again. "Gould 0738" wrote in message ... I would also like to see more positive statements from the leading Democratic candidates. However, you seem eager to dismiss very real problems with the Republicans. Just because the Democrats say it doesn't make it a lie, nor unimportant. Election tampering, gerrymandering, and campaign fund arm twisting should not be shrugged off. The "I am not Bush" platform is not enough for me, and for most of the people who I associate with. Actually, it seems that more people are likely to vote against Bush than for anybody else. DSK |

That is just the kind of head-in-the-sand, if it's a republican, it HAS to be good kind of attitude that turned me away from the republican party. |
