Beautiful homes they were. Have not been back since 1965, but a buddy was
there when Camille hit. I think was Andrew Jackson's ancestral home was one
of them. I was there for Betsy and it hit New Orleans area. All the
fishing shanties except for one in a 50 mile stretch of US 90 were gone.
Piled up next to the road in a 15' high stack and some a-hole torched.
Caused us an extra 150 miles to return to base. 12" I-beams from bill
boards that looked like corkscrews and bent horizontal. Since waves do not
get big next to the shore, I guess it was a figment of my imagination.
