used boats
 
I've seen several 30-31 foot 1985 era Sea Rays for sale. Most have had many
updates- but are these prices too good to be true? Do these models hold up
going on 20 yrs?

If well cared for, yes they frequently do.

That's the key on a boat of that age. No builder can put so much quality into a
boat that some ignoramus couldn't pretty well destroy it in a couple of decades
or less.
Well cared for, properly stored, serviced, maintained, and repaired- there's
absolutely no reason to assume that such a boat *couldn't* be in decent or
better shape.

When you get down to a "finalist", have a surveyor check it out to confirm (or
refute) your good opinion of the craft.
