Default noisy boat

I have a "80 Bayliner command bridge w/a Volvo outdrive, small block Chevy.
When running at cruising speed it is quite loud in the cabin. It's quieter
outside or on the command bridge. As I have only owned this for a short
while I'm wondering if it can be quieted (sp) down. With the age of the boat
could the motor mounts be hard?. Seems like it is noise transfer through the
hull rather than directly from the engine compartment. Or is it one of those
"live with it" things.
Thanks
David

The good news is: It will get quieter every year

Better news you can get from www.soundown.com

I am currently working on a similar project..

Pay your insurance bill and scuttle it.

I added some of the 1 inch sound proofing around my engine area and it
helped a lot. I also blocked off a lot of open areas. Also if you can make
the air feeds more complicated that will baffle noise too.
