Bush shot his wad in Iraq. He isn't about to go into Syria or, in fact,
any nation that presents a real threat to the United States. Like, say,
North Korea.

The only thing that'll keep Bush out of Korea is the fact that it could lead
to a nuclear conflict, and that could put England in danger, seeing as
they're right around the same continent, y'all.

The terrorist bombings restarted in Iraq
right after it was announced that Saddam had been captured.

Simply not true, Harry, stop perpetuating this lie. It was determined
rather quickly that what you continuously refer to as terrorist bombing (I
think you also claimed 17 dead a while ago) was in reality gasoline
canisters ignited by stray bullets fired in celebration [an unfortunate
side-effect of this local custom] with no injuries.

How much of an interval does there need to be between Saddam's capture and
the resumption of attacks, in order to prove that his capture was a
non-event, as far as the insurgents are concerned? Or, what is the point of
the "right after" discussion?

Now moot. I responded to a Harry post, but with inadequate information re
that event. See above post.
