Here's some great information on the new IRC rule.
Includes comparisons to PHRF and IMS as well as how to get one and what it means to any sailboat racer. Seems it is going to be taking a strong hold in the US and if you race, you should know about it. Finally, something to read that is easy to understand. It includes downloads of all the forms and rules. http://www.boaterslife.com/?visual=8...7&article=1056 Enjoy !!! |

Under PHRF handicaps were administered locally, and the certificate revenues acrued to the local YRAs instead of US Sailing. As a one number handicapping system, with no appeals process, it is doomed to failure. At least with PHRF there is an opportunity to optimize the rating to local conditions. |

When I was racing for the America Cup, we would alway compare the PHRF and the IMS. It just makes good sense. |

Only a wannabe Harry from Ohio would make that mistake. |

Yup
As president of the Cup association,, voted and appointed,, yup,, I was the only choice,, having such world knowledge as I do, yup, they wanted nobody else but me and personally myself, I don't blame them for a moment as I wouldn't want anyone else but me either, yup,, whats that? O,,, I agree,, But , today I had a great day, got down to the local upscale liquor store, my buddy fixed me up with my favorite bottle of my finest. Then worked my way through the coin video trench coat establishment of which I own and operate and work and frequent,, just to watch the kids behind the counter, make sure they are not allowing their friends to get in for free, yup,, you know how those places are. But here comes the little darling again with my choice of meds,, as long as I swallow them all, it is my choice which one I take first, she is generous that way,, the little darling she be,, yup,, But she is working on homework,, acc101 "hkrause" wrote in message news:1107729807.a37620fe22b055ec914648877fe9fced@t eranews...
