Probably not, I don't live near a major port.

Looking for a way to get up on plane quicker?

Actually I think an M249 would be more likely, Mama Deuce would probably shake
your boat (and mine too) to pieces.

Nope, M2 or nothing. Going down shakin' wouldnl't be a bad way to go!

Sure, why not? Put a Vulcan 7.62 mm mini-cannon on the T-top for
those high speed runs at the terrorist Zodiacs.

Torpedo tubes too if your boat is big enough. ;)

Ok, well, actually, I was thinking of unarmed security type stuff.

I might forego an M2 for a Vulcan, the 20mm variety, not the minigun.
Also, I wouldn't mind patrolling Chesapeake Bay for pay as long as I
could troll a few lines at the same time. Of course, I'd be prepared
to jettison the lines if the sh*t hit the fan!

Sometime this year I want to go down the Hudson (we're near Albany) and then
cruise around New York, the Statue of Liberty, etc. Anyone with info about
sights on the Hudson or marina recommendations around New York City?

================================================== =========

It's a great cruise with fantastic scenery (best enjoyed in good
weather of course). There are several interesting side creeks that
should not be missed such as in Catskill and Kingston, particularly
Kingston. Both offer fuel, dockage and other marine facilities.
Saugerties also has a side channel but I have not been in it. The
best scenery is in the vicinity of Storm King Mountain which is just
north of the West Point military academey. The town of Cold Spring on
the east bank just south of Storm King Mt is also worth a visit.

Dockage in the NY metro area is problematic and expensive for the most
part. Best bets are the two state run marinas on the New Jersey side
near Alpine and Englewood Cliffs (almost under the George Washington
Bridge). By far the best marinas and other facilities are on Long
Island Sound (City Island, New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Manhasset Bay).
The two NJ marinas have the cheapest fuel however.

Frankly, I've never been able to figure out the attraction of cruising
around with 4 or 5 other guys wearing orange life jackets and uniforms
on the hottest day of the year. No beer, no babes, no fishing, no
swimming, no water skiing, no beaches?

The USCGA provides a valuable service.

Although you also have a good point. :)

Yeah, but let's say you have a world's record striper on the line and
the terrorists are attacking the Bay Bridge.

A *really* hard choice. The folks on Maryland's eastern shore would
probably say, "Go for the fish!"

Personally, I think any self-respecting terrorist would hold off until
I landed the fish. They must have some ethics somewhere!

LOL!!!

I can see it now -

John: "Hey guys - can you wait a couple of minutes until I get this
fish landed and in the ice box? Thanks."

Terrorists: "Sure - so problem. What did you catch it on?"
