That was a rhetorical question, I don't think so, but if it were the
case then I'd have to say I'm living in the land of the brain-dead.

Maybe some morning we'll all wake up and be as sophisticated as you and
Harry.

If there's a God.......

There are people who feel the same way about your sports.

My sports, boating and scuba diving are personal enjoyment sports.
Getting stupid, drunk, and going ape**** becasue other people are
playing with balls is something I just don't understand. I guess thats
the type of thing you enjoy doing, I just don't see the sport in it if
you're not even playing the game, just watching other people you don't
even know play..
....geeze the more I think about it the more stupid profesional sports
sounds.

John C.

So are you really trying to say that you don't see how anybody can get
any personal enjoyment from a sport they don't DIRECTLY participate
in? I guess then, that could be taken further. Do you not get
enjoyment out of watching a good movie? A play? Your young child in a
school production? If you can't see how anybody can get enjoyment out
of something they watch, I feel sorry for you.

Agreed. Was a good game though.

My son will be one of the million-plus in Boston tomorrow. God help us. :-)

Great, traffic jams so these idiots can stand around yelling and
cheering like a bunch of morons because a group of overpaid grunts
played with footballs.
Millions upon millions of dollars spent on it while kids go to bed
cold and hungry in this country...
What the f#$k? am I the only one who sees the stupidity of this whole
waste of time and resource activity?

It's a whole lot less then the waste of time and resources spent on
recreational boating, which could much better be spent on kids who go to
bed cold and hungry in this country.

A lot of people would say the same thing about your boat. Except that
professional football does benefit the community a lot more than your
boat does.

Harry, a communist like you should love football. It provides enjoyment
for many more people of lower means than recreational boating does, for
lower cost per person.

Ah, a liberal democrat wishing death to children. Why am I not surprised?

Steve, I'm going to disagree with you here. Harry dislikes team sports
because organized team sport is a meritocracy. Some are more skilled and
harder workers than others, and the skilled, hard workers get bigger
rewards, while those with lesser skills and effort fail -- with no regard
for their so-called "self-esteem". This is the way every business ought to
be allowed to work, but we all know that is not the case.

It's amazing how much "analysis" low-brain-output types like you try to
squeeze out of your various orifices, and how hard you work at it and
yet how wrong you always are.

What do you do for a living, John? Certainly nothing that requires
abstract thinking.

I dislike most *pro* sports, but I do enjoy some college sports. If I'm
in Tallahassee "in-season," I'll gladly attend an FSU football game,
although football is not among my favorite team sports, and I'm not an
FSU alum.

My favorite team sports are rugby, swimming and track, the three sports
I most enjoyed participating in in high school and college. I have the
honor of losing and losing badly in a 1960s shot put event to Randy
Matson of Texas A&M. He was incredible. I was merely on the team. What a
joy to watch that guy. Got to photograph him, too, the next year, while
a stringer for the KC Star.
