Default 1982 Wellcraft lineup? Does one exist? 21' Scarab?

I found this boat for sale, and it is listed as a 21' 1982 Wellcraft. I
go see the boat and it has a Wellcraft emblem on the side near the
transom and it has a Scarab emblem on the sides just under the
windshield. It is a cuddy cabin type boat (looks kind of sleek). It is
a nice clean well cared for boat. I did not look at it for that long.
After I left I started thinking about it for a while and I thought it
looked very interesting. It has a V8 Merc I/O (I think a 260 HP), a
nice 2000 tandom trailer. I went home and tried to find info on it, and
I can't seem to find info on Wellcraft below 1985. So now I am kind of
scetchy on this boat. Did Wellcraft even make boats in 1982? Can
anybody help? Thanks, Brian

What you're describing sounds like the 21 foot Nova that Wellcraft built
for a few years. It was a downsized version of the more successfull 25
ft. Nova with twin Mercruiser engines. A friend had the 25 footer,
then later tried the 21 ft. Nova. The 21 was a good boat, but didn't
come close to performing like its bigger brother, the 25 ft. If it has
a Scarab logo on it, it was probably put added by a previous owner.

From PowerBoat Guide:

(a reference book used by brokers, marine lenders, etc)

Wellcraft:

One of the best-known names in the marine industry, Wellcraft traces
its roots back to 1955 when the founders began building several small
wooden runabouts. By the mid-1960's the company had made the transition
to fiberglass, and the Wellcraft line had grwon to a series of cuddy
cabins and renabouts from 17 to 23-feet in length. The 1970;s were an
era of rapid growth for Wellcraft Marine: 1976 saw the introduction of
the Scarab design, and in 1979 Wellcraft produced thier first inboard
family cruiser, the Wellcraft 310 Express. Wellcraft was by now one of
the largest builders of pleasure craft in the country.........

There's more, but that seems to address your specific question.

Maybe be a Scarab 1 which was made until 1987 I think. I had a 89 Scarab
Excel. Top speed should be in the 55-57mph zone with the 260. My 89 had 270
and ran 57-59mph. Take a picture and send it my way.
