Although I lock my kicker, the strongest deterrent is the fact it is
old and beat up. Sometimes I wish it would be stolen so the decision to
buy a new one would be forced on me. But in spite of the scraped up
cowling, it's low hours and really runs well. I think if I had a new
one, I'd use at least two different locks.

Same with my main - it's over 20 years old and I'd say to anyone who
stole it: "great, now YOU can pay for the gas that old thing sucks
down." And I'd use my insurance settlement to pay for about 20% of the
new engine 8-(
