....and it looks like the "bad side" is gonna catch us, head on.
Bertha and Fran took out 92 beachfront structures and caused heavy
beach erosion.

Yeah, I know it isn't a Katrina, but Hazel effectively did the same
thing, here, in 1955... leaving only 3 structures standing on the
island....

...but the pucker fact is still there and with the images of Katrina
in my mind, there is gonna be a decided pucker factor for a few
days....

Our boat's in Morehead City. One projection has the eye making a direct hit
there. Pucker factor is right! Good luck,

How are things looking for you Gene? Isn't this thing expected to hit north
of you at the Outer Banks?

well, that changed and it looks like we're getting the "good side,"
but it also illustrates why overbuilding in coastal areas causes
problems in storms....

On Wrightsville Beach: wind 360 at 45 gusting to 78

A bit inland at the airport, SUT- Southport (wide open spaces): wind
010 at 39 gusting to 56

On the waterfront at Southport (wide open spaces): wind 360 at 47
gusting to 70

In our wooded residential area: wind 030 at 18 gusting to 45

Our beaches face South and the Northern wind will minimize beach
erosion. Bald Head Island north will suffer substantial beach erosion
damage.....

Glad to hear you're gonna come out of this OK.
