Use a hair dryer and warm it up just enough to loosen the glue of the vinyl
numbers and peel them off. Remove adhesive residue with a solvent - like
mineral spirits, alcohol, or "goof off" - checking in a hidden place first
to make sure it doesn't damage the fiberglass hull.

Goo Gone is also good at removing adhesive.
