Default Shogun on DVD

Some of you may remember "Shogun," the Clavell novel that was made into
a multi-night TV series, starring Richard Chamberlain.

It had quite a bit of "boating" adventure, so it surely is on topic here.

In any event, I just found out the entire series, without deletions, is
now available on DVD. It wasn't when I last checked, which was about a
year ago.

Big-time bookstores have it, but Amazon has it cheaper.

This was one of my Top 10 television non-news events, and I ordered it
at the time time I ordered a copy of President Bill's new book.

Some of my other TV series favorites:

The Horatio Hornblower series of a couple of years ago
The Civil War series
Cosmos
Roots
Connections
Civilisation

Anyone else remember Chamberlain in Shogun?

You weren't waiting in line at that bookstore to get an autographed copy of
Clinton's book?
I remember the Shogun 'mini-series'?? on TV. Didn't see it all as I find
most mini-series about twice as long as they need to be and I wasn't a big
fan of Chamberlain. (Dr. Killdaire)

Oh, yes. Excellent, but I still thought the book was better (as usual).
Actually, I've often hoped someone would try Tai-Pan as a movie.

I thought the book and the series equally good, and that in itself was
unusual. The series, though, had a weak ending.
