I see the US Military takes care of it's own. John H. would be proud. The
cowboy flier who went against his handlers and bombed a Canadian contingent, causing 4 deaths, gets a slap on the wrist & loss of a months pay. Even up here with our mamby pamby justice system, he'd at least serve a years house arrest if not 3 years in jail. No wonder no one wants to join the US in Iraq. see ** http://www.herald.ns.ca/ ** |

Yup...you are a true, mindless, soulless piece of neocon crap, Bertie. These four Canadians died for Bush's fraudulent war, and for BushCo's warmongering corporate interests here and abroad. Those reasons might be good enough for pond slime like you, Bertie, but not for any rational humans. |

As tragic and regretable as these deaths are, Bert is correct -- such incidents are an inevitable part of combat. In both Gulf Wars, weapon technology has so increased that it makes the so-called friendly fire deaths stand out greatly in bold relief. Figure for the first Gulf War is about 35%, for Gulf II about 9% as of May, 2003. Estimates for WW-II vary considerably, from 2% to 20% -- 2% would equate to about 8000 deaths. Additionally, I recall reading that there were about 20,000 French civilians killed from D-Day onward. |

You stupid dipstick...no one said he knew they were Canadians...the point is..he didn't know who they were and disobeyed his superiors and went back and dropped a bomb on friendly forces. Try this scenario....A Cleveland cop fires his weapon into a crowd at a gathering after being told to not do so by his sergeant. He kills a Sheriffs deputy from the county. Does he just walk away and lose a months pay? |
