It's best not to underestimate the total damage that's been done to our country by allowing illegal aliens to abuse our medical system. Someone has to pay for this abuse. Bottom line, we ALL do. The hospitals jack up their rates to compensate...insurance companies jack up their rates...employers are forced to pay exhorbinant premiums or send the work out of the country...a vicious spiral. It costs us jobs and lowers our mean standard of living. And what has GWB's response been? Conservative Republicans offer the best chance to remedy the situation. Bush passed a law making allowing illegal aliens to collect Social security - think you better take your blinders off and actually do some reading........ As far as Hilary - if she is nominated by the democrats, they will be handed another loss. |

If she learns to shut her friggin' mouth about certain hot button issues, like gun control, she might actually have a chance. |

I firmly believe the US is not ready for a woman or black president. All peoples prejudices will come bubbling up and either would lose. I mean look at the last election, it was well known that Bush was liar and incompetent, he had lost more jobs during his first term in office than any other president, he had the largest deficit in history and he had more votes AGAINST him than any other president in history. But the brain-washed holier-than-thou crowd turned out even more people! IMO Hillary would get CREAMED! |

I firmly believe the US is not ready for a woman or black president. All peoples prejudices will come bubbling up and either would lose. I agree. I've even seen polls which indicate that women believe we're not ready for a woman president. I'd like to know more about the thinking behind that. I wonder if the results of such a poll are affected by the mere presence of someone like Hillary. In other words, people ponder the question, and the most prominent example is someone they're not fond of. Whatever. I'd like to see a a half million women polled on who they think *would* be a good candidate, with perhaps 20 choices listed. I'd vote for Carly what's-her-name, who used to run Hewlett Packard. Hillary, maybe, if she'd learn to shut her trap on issues that nobody has been able to clear up for almost 100 years, like gun control. Even Bush, moron that he is, knows enough to leave that one alone and let the courts figure out what the founders meant in the 2nd amendment. I mean look at the last election, it was well known that Bush was liar and incompetent, he had lost more jobs during his first term in office than any other president, he had the largest deficit in history and he had more votes AGAINST him than any other president in history. Subtract the truly stupid from the voting population, and what's left couldn't possibly believe Bush was a good candidate. People believe that there are so many levels of government, and checks & balances, that no single person could really affect things in an adverse way. Unfortunately, the mere presence of the clown has an effect. |

peoples prejudices will come bubbling up and either would lose. Prob'ly right. Doug Kanter wrote: .... You'd regret it if she won. I used to own Hewlett-Packard stock, she's the reason I sold it. And a good thing too, it dropped to about 10% what is was and will take decades to come back. Possibly. Depends on who's pulling the strings. The reason why Bush won in 2005 is that a few certain demographics supported him strongly, ie all the fag-hating witch-burners and KKKers that came roaring out to the polls to vote down gay marriage. And it was a very close thing. Intellectual laziness, in my opinion. Subtract the truly stupid from the voting population, and what's left couldn't possibly believe Bush was a good candidate. I don't think *anybody* thought he was a good candidate, nor did anybody think he was a good President. However, he heaped fuel on the fire of hatred for them dad-gum libby-rulls & queers, and a lot of people get off on that. DSK |

And a good thing too, it dropped to about 10% what is was and will take decades to come back. When I was 6 months from graduating Purdue Engineering, I interviewed with HP. The interviewer met with about 2/3 of my class. Every guy who walked out of the interview said that it was the worst interview that they had. Every girl (all 6 of them) who walked out said it was the best interview that they had. HP ended up hiring two Purdue Mechanical Engineer graduates...and both were women. Neither was in the top 50%of our class. It was obvious that the interviewer was operating on a directive from their female CEO to hire more women. The interviews with the men were just a formality. The affirmative action/reverse sexism that took place in corporate America was a good part of the reason why I ended up with a career change and went to dental school. So, indirectly, I can thank Carly for helping me make the best choice of my life. ;-) |
