Yep! It's time for sturgeon again.
I fish aboard my 22' C-Dory Angler on the California Delta (www.californiadelta.org), the Rio Vista and Suisun areas mainly. I started this season last week when I released a 40 incher that was a very strong fighter. Our slot limit is 46" to 72". I was out again yesterday and today (I overnight at anchor) and hooked in to a total of four sturgeon. I released three yesterday measuring about 28" to 45". That 45 incher was a gas - he ran about a hundred yards when I set the hook and breached three times in the process. But I had to release him. Today I finally hooked into a small keeper, the minimum 46 inches. He joined me for a boat ride home. All were caught on lamprey. Photos on my homepage: www.fishwisher.com Dale |

I've seen them caught at the Martinez municipal pier, and looks like a hell of a good time! |

Again!! I headed down river from Rio Vista, California to Suisun Bay
on Monday for another couple days of Delta sturgeon fishing. The weather was still perfect and the fish were still cooperative. I caught another 46" sturgeon on the second day of this week's trip. He also fell for lamprey eel. Two little keepers in two weeks! Things could be worse... Sturgeon don't come along all that often for me! Maybe a big one will come along next time... Lordy, I've been putting in my time! Photos on my home page: www.fishwisher.com Dale |

I don't know about party boats as I have never used them, but here's a
link to a party boat that advertises sturgeon trips: http://usafishing.com/SFBay.html If you move about that site I'm sure you'll find more info. Good luck. Dale www.fishwisher.com |
