I was just trying to point out to some people here that the bible contains,
to my way of thinking, a lot of things that are totally unbelievable and yet
most Christians take it as truth, word for word.
Yes, I am an atheist. If there really was a god, there would be no
mosquitoes.

It would do you some good to know your bible as you are the Christian.

Have you been drinking with Harry again? The Catholics believe that the
Bible is the inspired word of God, not the literal word of God. You need to
understand the differences between the Catholics and the Protestants. If
fact look up the Protestant in the dictionary to understand who they are and
what they believe.

It's all true. Especially the last. Actually, it was Paul who allegedly
wanted to convert the pagans to Judaism. Jesus wasn't interested in

Yes, Lord Smithers, I would agree that "some" of the principles taught in
the new testament are in agreement with mine. I also will say that some
of
the principles taught in the Koran are also very good principles to live
by.
The really best principles to live by, imho, are those written by the
scholars of Buddha. Perhaps the best know today is Lhamo Dhondrub or most
commonly called Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dali Lama.

Yes there are some people who believe the Bible is a historical book and
the Natural history as presented in the bible is accurate, but they are a
very tiny minority of those who profess to be Christians. My understanding
is that most Christians also are very understanding and compassionate
towards non Christians.

I also have found the Buddhist, Muslims and Jews who are very understanding
of non believers, and I have found many of them who look down on all non
believers. Religion has many great things to offer society and mankind, it
can also be *******ized to be very detrimental to all. I find most
Christians to be a positive force for good. I do not include TV evangelist
in this category.

No, I'm right. Make a list of things you'd NEVER want to do on Dec 25th,
assuming the things on the list were optional, and you lived in the snow
belt. I'm sure that optional shopping would be on the list.
