In my opinion, whoever picked Dec 25 either lived in a warm climate, or was totally insane. No normal person wants to slog through winter slop to go shopping. It must be my upbringing, but I've spent several Christmases surrounded by palm trees. I find it quite strange. Give me snow on Christmas. |

Give me snow on Christmas. Damn straight. Our family flew into Florida when the kids were young on Christmas Day for a 7 day stay at a nice 3 bedroom condo in Kissimmee and visits to Disney World and Universal Studios. We left Cleveland with several inches of snow on the ground and a temperature in the 20's...............arrived Orlando with 80 degree temperatures and absolutely gorgeous weather. It certainly did not feel like Christmas but being able to wear shorts/tee shirts and go for swims at the condo pool in late December was pretty nice. That being said............snow on Christmas morning is good..........any other time sucks.;-) |

Rick,
There are many excellent principles in the old testament. "-rick-" wrote in message ... "Lord Reginald Smithers" wrote... Tom,
Why is that? "Shortwave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... On Sun, 11 Dec 2005 16:40:49 -0800, "-rick-" wrote: "Lord Reginald Smithers" wrote... Why only the new testament? Personally, I like the Gnostic Gospels. |

"Smithers" wrote... There are many excellent principles in the old testament. And also some truly horrible ones. I just wondered why you excluded it. Those decent and useful principles may be reached and justified through empathy and rational thought in my opinion, however we don't need to debate that here. Enjoy the holidays. -rick- |

Although, I would have to say they were ethnically Jewish, and perhaps, not practicing Jews. Hope your Christmas is Spectacular, and your New Year even Better! So John, with all this Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas hubbub, do you send two cards out? You know, one for Christmas and one for New Years? Personally, I always thought that was what Happy Holidays (as in plural) was about. Stupid me, I never realized it was a communist plot against that poor downtrodden American minority, Christians. |
