I suggested a brief "test" in 2000. Both major candidates would appear

a news program and be handed a page chosen at random from any of the

aloud.

The results of the rest would be readily apparent.

Would just prove the person is a good public speaker.

As I have said many times before, by harry's (and the rest of the
liebrals standards) a stutter, or someone suffering from one of several
other afflictions would be deemed stupid. And we all know that is far from
the fact. and on the opposite end, your typical news reader anchor for
one of the MSM that doesn't have a clue would pass harry's test with flying
colors. No wonder he is sided with the losing party.

Or a good public reader. :-)

There are quite a few folks on television who deliver their lines
(sometimes called the news) with a great deal of aplomb. Very few of
them impress me as being particularly bright, most quite the opposite.

The real test for a politician should be good judgement, sound
decision making and leadership ability.

One problem we have in this modern world is that elected
leaders are chosen mostly for their ability to schmooze
campaign donors.

The only judgement they have to exercise is choosing a
personal manager who can hire the right advertising
companies, script writers, etc etc.

"Leadership" ??!?!

Next you'll be asking them to not consult polls before
announcing their "decisions"!

It is amazing how creative some people can be in converting a thread on Cape
Hatterras into a political thread.

No, actually, it would prove the person is an accomplished reader, a skill
necessary for a modern political leader. You certainly would not want a
president lacking in reading ability, or who did not like to read.

So tell us about your boat Smithers.

While you are at it, and before you change your handle again (to thwart
those wanting to killfile you) let us know what your real name is.

Are you up to it Smithers?

Tom,
Canada does have a navy, in fact Don's sailboat is considered the flagship

You know Sable Island is just a pretend Graveyard, don't you? ; )

The only real Graveyard of the Atlantic is Cape Hatteras.

No way! Ours is bigger & better than yours. Just ask us.

I see where your government is all upset about the American, British
and French submarines traveling the Northwest Passage without telling
them.

I suspect if Canada actually had a Navy, that wouldn't be much of a
problem. :)

Don't be makin' fun of our Navy. We'll sic'em on you soon as they
sober up after New Year.
