substitute for bottom paint. They claim that the bottom is so smooth
and slippery that merely moving through the water at a few knots will
dislodge any barnacles or sea grass. Hmmm....

Anybody else heard of this yet or know anything more about it?

Sounds a lot like "glassflake", which has been around for years (sorry,
can't remember details)
